Happy New Year

Happy New Year!  We had a great first week of school for 2019!
We learned about the letter "U", the number 11, and so much more.  Take a look at what we did this week!

These sweet friends brought in Unicorns!

"U" is for umbrella!

"U" is for underwear!

"U" is for Uno!

"U" is for under construction!

We made it rain on umbrellas.

We counted pancakes from, "If You Give a Pig a Pancake".

We had fun in the sensory bin, flipping pancakes!

We practiced taking turns and playing "Gone Fishing".

We practiced writing our letters.

We love getting our fingers stronger with play doh!

We enjoyed muffins after we read, "If You Give a Moose a Muffin".

We did a science experiment to make a balloon go, Up!

We put a little bit of baking soda in the orange balloon and a lot of baking soda in the green balloon.

We put vinegar in both bottles and added food coloring to make one green and one orange.

Ms. Rose attached the balloons to the top of the bottles.  We predicted which balloon would get bigger.  We said the green one.

Wow!!!

We were right!  The green balloon got bigger!  We talked about the chemical reaction that took place and how it created a gas, CO2.  Because we put more baking soda in the green balloon, more gas was created!

We had a fantastic week!  Blessings on your weekend!
