Brr! It's cold outside!

This week was all about snow and ice! From making melting snowmen to experimenting with ice cubes, we had so much fun! On Monday, we discussed all of the animals that can live in the snow and ice of the Arctic. You can check out our bulletin board in the hallway to see our Arctic animal painting! We also had fun playing an addition game to feed the giant penguin who visited our room as well as constructing winter animal dens out of marshmallow "snow". We even got to experiment with "blubber" to see how it keeps Arctic animals warm in the cold weather!

On Tuesday and Wednesday, we focused on snow and ice! We constructed snowmen out of our names and also painted melting snowmen to go along with our book Sneezy the Snowman. We read and sang several fun snowman poems and used snowmen to help us count. We also experimented with colored ice to see how primary colors can mix to form secondary colors. See if your child can tell you what color "snow" we made!

Some other highlights of the week included beginning to share the All About Me box from three of our friends. We sure love our preschool friends! We also enjoyed sharing our items that started with the letter V or letter K. Our class is definitely creative!

We had another great week in Bridge class! We extended our learning about Arctic animals by learning lots of fun penguin and polar bear facts! We enjoyed making popsicle stick penguin magnets and having penguin egg races! We also used crayons to help us learn how penguins' feathers repel water and keep them dry.

To go along with learning about snow, we used our imaginations to make our own snowmen and painted snowflakes. With our time, we added on to our rhyming knowledge, addition knowledge, and color word knowledge. What a sharp group!
